Ok… I’m listening to bassdrive yet again and I’ve yet to NOT be amazed at how fucking incredible the ChiTown boys are… Bassdrive is a streaming drum n bass internet radio station of sorts and quite often they have live DJ’s spinning. This one group of guys from Chicago are just fucking amazing. I dunno how they do it, but I swear they throw down some of the sickest music I’ve ever heard. Plenty of jungle remixes of R&B songs that just absolutely blow my fuckin mind… then this one song called “Swept Away” by Enemy. This has become by far my favorite song over the past couple of weeks (they always make a point to play it) simply because of all the amazing elements it throws together, most notably the female voice which makes me just wanna bust a fuckin nut. Not to mention the really cool backing music and such. I think I’ve become quite the dnb fanatic of late. I listen to it probably more than any form of music now. I still dig some other forms of techno… trance, hardtrance, etc… and I still like industrial, metal, hard rock and some alternative; but above all, I love jungle. I guess part of it is the fact that it’s so diverse and there are so many good undiscovered artists out there. Not to mention, downloading jungle won’t get you in trouble with the RIAA! For those of you out there who don’t get to listen to much techno or haven’t heard much jungle, go to either www.bassdrive.com and click on whichever link at the top fits you… 128k for cable/DSL or 32k for you dialup users. Throw away your preconceived notions about anything “techno”. This is nothing like you’ve heard before. Also, you can go to www.dogsonacid.com and check out their collection of dubplates. Anyway… Jungle rules, ’nuff said [end of rant about jungle].
