Found a pretty sweet piece of software called Skype that allows you to make PC-to-PC “phone calls” for free… anywhere in the world… all you need is a microphone and some speakers. It sounds best if you have broadband, but even on dialup it might not be too bad. From my experience, it uses about 42kbit of upstream bandwith, which means it sounds infinitely better than any telephone could possibly sound. If only I knew people who actually used it. You can search for people, but I feel kinda weird just randomly calling people that I don’t even know. It’d be kinda like calling someone out of the phone book. Ugh… I fucking hate people like this… I mean, get a fucking life and type like a normal human, for god’s sake! I literally attempted to read this person’s blog for shits & giggles and I couldn’t make out anything intelligible in either the blog or the “tagboard” below it. I’ve noticed that people with “aZn PrYdE” tend to type like that more than the somewhat “normal” youth of today. In case anyone’s wondering, I found this blog by clicking on “random” on blo.gs 
heh, I might just have to try that a few more times just to see how many idiots out there that shouldn’t have blogs actually do. Admittedly, from what I can tell, this person is a 13 year old girl but STILL. I didn’t talk like that when I was 13… god forbid anyone has to speak to this poor girl in person. I pity them.
I’ve been posting all those articles I found amusing, but not much of anything pertaining to myself… I suppose it’s just the simple fact that we’ve been so damn busy at work, I haven’t had much time for anything else. Nothing interesting has really happened at all lately aside from taking my drug test for work and whatnot. I know I passed it as I simply don’t do any drugs. I also got some good news in that my income taxes are not going to be withheld this year… I had originally gotten a letter that the Department of Education was going to withhold my income tax refund this year because I have a defaulted student loan. However, they just sent me another one that said they’ve decided that they’re not going to but did not list a reason. Needless to say, I’m not complaining at all… I’ve been playing a lot of Call of Duty lately, and oddly enough not multiplayer, but single player. The single-player missions are lots of fun, actually, and follow along with many of the historically significant events of WWII (for the Allies, of course). Strangely enough, they don’t re-enact landing on the beaches of Normandy or the Battle of the Bulge or anything like that. It’s almost like they’ve thrown in their own scenarios that could have happened on the side during those same major events. I think the only one I’ve run across so far that I know to be at least mostly historically accurate is the Russians taking back Red Square in Stalingrad and eventually pushing the Germans back through Poland into Germany. I have to say driving a tank and blowing shit up was tons of fun, and as of right now I’m on a mission where I have to blow up a couple of V2 launch pads. Needless to say, it’s a wonderful game and anyone with a decent system who enjoys first person shooters should go out and buy the game. It’s worth your money, no doubt. Next game I buy will be Splinter Cell, I’m sure. 
They have a multiplayer expansion coming out that is supposed to kick mucho ass, so I’ll be curious to see that when it comes out. Nothing else worthwhile to post at the moment.. Today’s payday, so I’m happy about that… gotta pay rent, though, so there goes $240 of the unspecified amount of money I have after cashing my checks and all. I also owe First Tennessee Bank $140 that I need to pay off so I can open another checking account somewhere (or another one there, whatever). Anyway, I’m done catching up for now… read me later

Jeez… who woulda thought Howard Stern would say something offensive? Unfortunately, the article doesn’t say anything about what exactly he said. I’d love to find out, but all I can discern is that he said something about black women. Anyway, it’s amusing to say the least.

I found this article about an art exhibit in downtown London that I found quite interesting… It has to do with a toilet, and I’ll leave it at that… Well, I will also say that I’d go for it, just because it’s a pretty cool idea. 
I’ve made a few minor changes to the site cosmetically. It was all I could come up with for right now, but I think I’ll be tweaking it further in the near future. If you can figure out what it is that I’ve changed and if you have an opinion on it, please click the title above and enter some comments… or even if you have any ideas, it’d be much appreciated. I’m debating on changing the color scheme, but not drastically. Anyway, I’m done fucking around for the night. Off to bed I go. I have to work at 1:00 today. I shall return.
This is undoubtedly fucking great… one of my favorite sites wrote this editorial about this supposed new console coming out called, ironically enough, the Phantom. It was basically announced well over a year ago and still nothing has come of it except some 3D images, some ever-changing technical info, and one single non working mock up taken to a press conference one time. HardOCP basically wrote an editorial outlining their opinions on the whole matter back in September. I’m with Kyle on this one and think that the console is first off, a bunch of bullshit, and second off, even if it were to ever be released it would be an enormous flop. Needless to say, in the land of the frivolous lawsuit, Infinium Labs (the company behind the Phantom) have taken on legal counsel and sent cease-and-desist letters to HardOCP claiming damages from the article written over 6 months ago. HardOCP is taking a hardline stance on the issue saying that Infinium has done nothing to disprove their statements and being that it is an editorial, they’re not backing down from their statements. Amusingly enough, shortly after all this happened, This article was written about the whole situation. (warning, heavy sarcasm alert!). Anyway, there’s some good reading for tonight.
