A new version of Firefox just got released due to a security flaw they found. What’s so amusing about this whole thing is the fact that the flaw was patched THE VERY SAME DAY it was found… If a bug is found in IE, it takes months to get it patched properly and there’s no guarantee that the patch won’t break something else (as has happened a few times before). Oh the joys of open source software. The fact that there are several thousand people around the world working on the Mozilla project means that if something’s fucked, it’s going to get fixed REALLY quickly. Mind you, there are two different browser projects: Mozilla and Firefox. Mozilla is an entire suite of apps including a mail program, HTML editor, IRC chat program, and newsgroup reader. Firefox is just the standalone browser project and is being developed separately from just regular Mozilla (known as seamonkey, amusingly enough). In conjunction with this, an email client called “Thunderbird”:http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird is being developed to complement Firefox. I think at some point, the actual Seamonkey suite will be discontinued and they’ll just have Firefox & Thunderbird. If you don’t like Firefox or Mozilla, at least give Opera a try. It’s not totally free, as it contains advertising banners if you don’t pay for it, but it’s still a nice alternative to microsoft’s shitty browser. At any rate, I’m done ranting about alternative browsers for now. I’ve been listening to Philosomatika for the past hour or two. Pretty cool streaming radio station that plays nothing but psytrance and acid trance. I love it. Only problem is that it’s 160kbps so you have to be on broadband to listen… If you’re on broadband, then go download Winamp if you haven’t already… and go find a nice shoutcast station to listen to. Hey, if you’ve got cable or DSL, you might as well put it to use, damnit! Haha.. I’m done. be gone now ![]()

I just found this neat thing called a Guestmap, which is actually cooler than a guestBOOK… Basically you pinpoint your location on a map, click it, then enter your name and comment. Pretty neat. There’s a link to mine on the right hand side near the bottom. Click it and enter your location and stuff. I’m kinda curious as to who is visiting my page, ya know.
Well, I added a webcam pic to my sidebar because, well, I felt like it… Basically I have another free webhosting account with “pure-elite”:http://www.pure-elite.com and figured I’d just host my cam on that since I have it. Basically the pic links to the webcam pic on that server so as not to eat away at the bandwith I have available here. It updates every 3 minutes if I have my cam turned on. As of right now, pure-elite is giving away free subdomain accounts with 500MB of space and unlimited traffic. I basically ended up with the same thing on 1and1 except that I’m limited to 5GB of traffic a month. That’s been sufficient so far as I don’t host any overly large videos, nor do I get an insane amount of hits. I would be willing to bet that my bandwith usage for this month will be higher than normal due to my huge image gallery I’ve put up and my constant uploading of new stuff. I even added some new videos to the gallery as well. That’s it for now… I’m still trying to work in a good way to have all my contact info somewhere on here as well… I guess I’m going to try and work that in after I write this. I might have another update soon… who knows. ![]()
