Wow… now I’m getting comment spam from someone spamming beastiality, incest, rape and other stupid shit. Thankfully I have a huge list of spam words that keeps them from ever being displayed on my blog. They go into a nice little queue and all I do is make two clicks to delete them all. Takes about 15 seconds and I’m done. I’ve also managed to increase the time required between consecutive comment posts to 5 minutes since they seem to make about 1-2 comments a minute. The spammers seem to use scripts and open proxies to do their work, so IP banning doesn’t do much good at all. Luckily wordpress has a pretty nice comment spam filtering system. Also, there are quite a few pretty good comment spam reducing plugins out there for wordpress as well. Kitten’s Spamwords seems to be the most popular one to use at the moment, but only seems to work on comments that have already made it into your blog. The good thing is that you can go into mass edit mode and delete the ones that are spam… then once you do that, any comment that looks similar to the ones you’ve deleted as spam get dumped into your moderation queue. Alas, permanently denying them access to your blog doesn’t seem possible at the moment, but this will do fine for now.

Wow… our weather has been fucking amazing lately! It’s been in the 60’s for about a week straight now, which is perfect riding weather. I almost feel bad not putting in 20 miles in this kind of weather. Jeez. Anyway, Phil’s finally taking his bed out of my room and stuff now that he’s moved out which means I need to go buy a bed. I’ve decided I’m going to be different and instead of getting a full blown bed, I’m going to get a Love Sac. Click the link for more info, but basically they’re a huge beanbag with foam inside of them instead of beans. The cool thing is they have memory foam and they’re about 6ft round so they function quite well as a bed. I’m only 5′7 so I can fit nicely on something 6ft round. Also, you get to pick what kind of cover you want for it and you can even buy multiple covers and switch them out as you see fit. I think I’ll also end up getting a futon as well sometime down the road but the lovesac should work out just fine for what I want. The only fun part is that the sucker weighs 75 lbs, so I’m going to have to have my friend drive me down there to get it and help me carry the bitch inside. Even “compressed” it’s about 3ft long by 2ft wide. Then you take it out of the duffel bag looking thing and “fluff” it.. then put the cover on it… and use it normally and over the course of a couple of days, it grows to its normal size. Dura-foam is interesting stuff for sure. I’ll report on it after I’ve used it for a bit. :p
