odds and ends

Just randomness for the moment as I’m in the middle of a 17 hour shift at work. We ordered pizza tonight from Papa Dom’s. Normally I get the spaghetti, but I figured we’d try their pizza… and holy fuck was it good. Literally everything I get from this place is just absolutely amazing. I think if I could eat their food 7 days a week I would. It’s THAT good. I guess what makes it so great is that he literally makes everything from scratch. He also takes great pride in his food, no doubt. When I got spaghetti, he asked if I had ever gotten the meatballs and I told him no… He then proceeded to tell me how amazing the meatballs are and how they’re simmered for 7 hrs and how much he loves them. Gotta love it. He’s an Italian running an Italian restaurant, which is the way it should be. I’d highly recommend anyone in the area give their food a shot. It’s hella good and worth every penny.

And yeah, as stated above I’m working 17 hours again today. The 3am-11am person is going to Atlanta for a concert so I get to cover his shift. Not that I mind at all because my job rocks and it’s not terribly difficult. The overtime is nice because that’s what’s paying for my road bike. I came in at 6, get off @ 11am tomorrow. Fun fun!

More bike parts

So yeah, I got the wheels in for the road bike I’m building (pics in the gallery, folks!). $389 and they’re as light or lighter than many of the $700 wheels out there for sale today. Plus they’re handbuilt by a dude in FL. I have 30 days to try them out and ship them back if I hate them. 2yr warranty on the stuff, too. I’m happy. $879 down, $850 to go. I can’t wait to get this fucker built. After that, I’ll probably build up a third bike as a beater with a rack & panniers or something similar so that I can carry heavy stuff. I’ll be able to go to the store and buy food and stuff and not have to worry about stuffing it in my backpack or whatever. That’s on down the road, though. Here’s a great concept that I’m looking into. $900 for a fully built up bike that’ll carry up to 200 lbs on the back. I like the idea. You can also buy it separately and retrofit an existing bike. Not sure how I’ll do it, but I’ll figure something out. That is, if I even go that route. Whatever, the road bike is more important now.

Oh, and as far as my off-days went? I had fun… played putt putt on Monday with Sam and two chicks. Got sorta drunk that night. Did jack shit on Tuesday. Yep, not very exciting this week. Sorry to disappoint.
