So today I did 40 miles worth of riding in about 3 hrs. I was flat sore as fuck once I finished riding, but it’s my first 40 mile ride since I’ve started riding again, so I felt like I did pretty well. Average speed was 13mph and max was 39.9 mph. Amusingly, the 39.9mph top speed was me coasting down a huge hill on a road I’d never been on a day in my life. It was dark and while my headlight was doing a good job lighting the road ahead of me, I didn’t want to do anything stupid so I pulled the brakes a few times to scrub some speed off. All in all, it was a great ride. Next up? 50 miles in a day. Eventually I’ll do 100 in a day. I could probably do it now, but not on my mountain bike. My mountain bike makes my knees hurt after long distances. I’m not really sure why and I don’t think I want to go through the trouble of fucking with the fit to fix the problem. I’ll wait until I get the road bike together until I actually do major mileage in one day. Now, if the stupid US Postal Service would hurry up with the rest of my shit, I’d be happy. UPS is supposed to be delivering one package tomorrow. That only leaves the levers and pedals from Performance Bicycle that should have been shipped Fedex but somehow got shipped USPS. bastards!
