odd, I had absolutely no issues and there are a few people I have seen who have had issues with it for whatever reason. I'm more than happy with the firmware and I'm glad I upgraded. My friend had essentially the same experience so I would venture a guess that those with "bricked" 6700's due to the upgrade are in the vast minority. Sorry you had problems with it. :(

WARNING! Hi, I got my XV6700 a few days ago and was very happy when I saw the news of the firmware update. So I hooked up my pda to cradle and the cradle to pc. Everything synched up nicely. I then started the execution of the firmwarte. Went through the checking fine but on the second screen after it instructed me to hit next, it killed my pda! No matter what I did (soft reset/hard reset) the damn thing is dead. I researched the web and it seems like a few other people had the same problem. When this happens, kiss your pda good bye! It's dead. Fortunately I'm within my first 15 days of the purchase so I'll be able to return it to the store and exchange it for another. But I'll sure as hell stay away from this firmware!
