reclaim lost storage memory on your xv6700!

Well, I think I’ve found the culprit for my constantly diminishing storage memory on my 6700. Apparently, when you receive a lot of mms messages, they hog memory even after you delete them in Pocket Outlook. I mean, I can totally understand them hogging memory when you leave them in your inbox, but even after they’re deleted? It seems they create data files in \My Documents\UAContents\MMS UA and they don’t get deleted when you clear your inbox. That makes absolutely no sense and I kinda wonder whether it’s an issue with the Arcsoft MMS app or if it’s poor coding in WM5. This isn’t just an isolated incident, oddly.. the folder has now twice crept up over 2MB and had old data files from old mms messages that had already been deleted long ago. Both times I’ve cleared it out and was able to reclaim a few megs of storage memory.
From what I’m able to tell, the folder is where the mime-encoded attachments are decoded and stored. The messages are just like emails and so they have to be encoded somehow. Verizon of course picked MIME and the MMS app decodes them when it downloads them. Thus, they have to be stored in some sort of temporary file and that’s where it’s stored. Why it doesn’t clean up after itself is what bugs me. Either way, at least I’ve figured out a way to reclaim some memory… however, I have to remember to do it every few weeks when I see my memory getting down around 5MB free.
