The Cynic Says……

I splurged (sorta) and bought a nice case for my XV-6700 finally. I decided on the Krusell Handit Multidapt case and can’t say I’m the least bit disappointed. It’s made of pretty high-quality leather and actually fits the phone quite well. It’s also one of the few cases that allow you to slide the keyboard out without actually removing the phone from the case! Granted, you have to unsnap the little piece that goes over the phone itself to hold it down in the case in order to do it but it’s not as bad as removing the phone completely. The case also has all the required cutouts for the buttons along the side and top (camera, volume slider, on/off, etc) and even has cutouts for the charger and headphone ports. The multidapt clip is really nice as well.. Basically it’s two parts, one that clips on your pants or belt and then the piece on the back of the phone. When you slide the knob on the back of the phone into the receiving clip, it clicks in securely and cannot be pulled out unless you press a button on top of the receiving clip to release the phone. Very nice setup and you can even buy other clips and such to fit the phone to your car, your belt, even a bicycle. I really only have a couple of minor quibbles about the case overall. There’s a pocket inside the top flip section that’s meant for a credit card and such, however because the case is so narrow, credit cards and drivers’ licenses don’t fit! Rather annoying because I was kinda hoping to be able to use that to carry my DL and debit card and not carry a wallet. So much for that idea. Also, the plastic section that goes over the keyboard and holds the phone in also happens to cover the miniSD card slot so if you want to remove the card, you have to remove the phone. Lastly, the flap that goes around to the bottom and snaps to hold it shut actually covers the charger port and headphone port when it’s closed. Now, it can be pushed out of the way slightly to accomodate the headphone plug, but it absolutely HAS to be unbuttoned in order to charge the phone. Pretty minor quibbles, really. I’d highly recommend it.. I got it on amazon.com pretty cheaply from an alternate seller named wireless_galaxy. It was $24.99 + shipping, which is cheaper than what Krusell sells it for on their site. Krusell also makes a ton of cases for a ton of other phones, pda’s, handheld gaming systems, gps’s and various other stuff. Check ‘em out.
