Sandisk makes good shit

…. or so it seems at least. I have a 4GB U3-capable Sandisk flash drive, which I use on occasion for various things (mostly installing drivers on PC’s and stuff). In any case, I left it in my jeans pocket at some point and it got washed. Well, turns out aside from getting banged up and needing some prying, it still works perfectly fine. I thought I’d lost it but my friend informed me that it was found after having been washed and subsequently dried. Well, I guess it’s definitely clean now? I’m somewhat surprised it still works, though admittedly it does make some sense since it wasn’t powered up when it got wet and it was dried shortly thereafter. Still pretty cool that it still works.

WP 2.1 finally!

I don’t really pay enough attention to my blog, so I’ve been a bit behind lately. In any case, I finally updated my blog to the latest version of Wordpress, version 2.1. I can’t say I’ve actually done any looking around yet so I’m not sure if it’s really all that much better. They have a rather extensive changelog going on, so it does appear that they’ve made a rather large bunch of changes, most for the better from what it looks like. I’ll probably end up finding a new theme to use as well since this one’s getting rather boring and tired. I’m too lazy to design my own theme from the ground up. I normally take an existing theme and tweak it to my liking; it just makes it so much easier that way. And for those of you wondering, yes I absolutely do give credit to the original author. I don’t take credit for work I didn’t do.

holy shit, A CAR!

Yeah, no joke… we actually bought a fucking car. Well, my girlfriend is going to be the one driving it but we have a car at our disposal nonetheless. We got a 1995 Mazda 626 LX-V6 for $1500. Not too bad of a car, but it needs a little work, unfortunately. Both oxygen sensors seem to have kicked the bucket. I’ll be damned if I’m going to pay stealership prices to have them replaced seeing as how I can get them online for about 1/3 the price. The front sensor is the easy one to get to; I’m not so sure about the rear one. I may just buy them and take it to someone. Then again, I’ve seriously been considering dropping in a JDM KL-ZE engine and transmission to replace the tired drivetrain in the car currently. 200hp in a 626 wouldn’t be half bad. She wants to put a CD player and Sirius radio in it, which I’m totally cool with. We really don’t have jack shit for decent radio down here so it’ll be a nice change. I figure we’ll end up spending $400 or so to do it. Not too terrible and it’ll be a nice upgrade from the factory cassette player. Either way, we’ll end up turning this into sort of a project car, which might be lots of fun. More to come later, including some pics.
