Well, first off we went to Atlanta a little over a week ago… Had an amazing time and we’ll definitely be going back sometime soon. We went to the new Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Underground Atlanta, Centennial Olympic Park and some other random stuff. We also ate at The Vortex (my favorite restaurant down there), Johnny Rockets and Cowtippers. Yes, Cowtippers. Despite the goofy name, they have some really damn good steaks. Their menu is fairly limited overall but what they DO offer is quite good from what we could tell. Our hotel was simply badass. We stayed at the Residence Inn @ 17th & Peachtree, which is basically the midtown area. Not quite Buckhead, but close. It was super nice and had an amazing bed. The only downer was the $19 parking fee we had to pay. We only stayed one night (Saturday the 10th) and drove back on Sunday. I ended up driving back from Atlanta because she was so damned tired from running around all day that Sunday. I was pretty tired too, but not so much that I couldn’t drive. All in all, an awesome trip. We’ll definitely be going back when the new World of Coke opens (they’re closing the old one).
As far as what else is new? Well, we decided to splurge and buy a new mattress. We ended up getting a Vera Wang Serta for about $1500 with box springs. I think it’s the “Cherish” model which roughly equates to what’s called the “Komen” on their page. Apparently some of the money from the sales of the mattresses goes to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, which I think is pretty damn cool. All in all, it’s probably the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept in and Sunday morning I woke up with no back pain for the first time in a really really long time. As far as I know, it’s memory foam with a HUGE pillowtop, but don’t quote me on that. I mean, I know it has a huge pillow top but that’s about it. The website says the Komen is a memory-foam mattress. I can honestly say I agree with the old saying that the two things you don’t skimp on are shoes and a bed because if you’re not in one, you’re in the other.
Oh, and I almost forgot. There are pics of the Atlanta trip in my gallery @ http://gallery.whatthefcuk.info
